Title: Roller Furling
Post by: atrometer on February 03, 2014, 03:18:27 PM
I have searched for the home made roller furler by "Fat Boy" (which I've read is very good) with no luck.  Help

Never heard of "fat Boy" here on the forum?   ???

Mandolinut posted a nice article on it in our DIY section:

Most of the homemade furlers were derived from this article:

kicknbug made IMO the nicest one out out aluminum tube. He put a groove in it to feed the sail into, that way he can change the sails.  There are no pictures of it here on the forum but maybe he'll pipe in with construction details.

I would say read these two articles and ask questions before you begin.
For the appx $25 it costs to make one, they are worth it.

Nor am I Fat Boy but I'm known in some circles as Phat Bob.
Thank you very much. Or as Bilbo Baggins spoke with a bad head cold: "Thag you berry buch".
