Has anyone been considering a ComPac get together for 2014 in the VA-NC area? Tim Gardner, I missed your Wine Fest at Smith Mountain Lake, with regrets. I'm just sounding the waters, my youngest son and I are going on a CP16 cruise somewhere this Spring. Chris just passed the Virginia Bar and is looking for a job; work might limit our travel time. Presently, it looks like we will travel down the Potomac River some distance and back if we can not find a group outing to share elsewhere. We will leave from the Washington Sailing Marina and head towards the Chesapeake and return with the tides. I have located a book, "Discovering the Tidal Potomac, A Cruising Guide and Boating Reference" by Capt. Rick Rhodes, Second edition 2003, published by Heron Island Guides, which is a little dated but, otherwise it will be our guide. (There might be a newer version. . .) Just checking in on what if anything is going on this year.

Dave - non problemo. The wine festival went great. I had originally planned an SML ron-day-vou for last year. New granchilren got in the way. I'm open to hosting an event here at the lake. Let me know.
I have a CP 23 in New Bern, NC area. I don't have a trailer, so I'm just going to sail in the Neuse River, maybe take a trip down the ditch to Beaufort and go out to Shackleford banks or even out the inlet to Cape Lookout.
Any of yawl want to plan something on the neuse any time, I'll be up for it.

Love to see a VA/NC event. SML is a great place to sail in the spring and fall. We trail every year to the Chesapeake and the Neuse is on our to do list.
We would gladly try to make it with either our 16 or 19. Any proposed dates yet?
