Happy New Year,

We are staying in; wife wants to keep me awake for ball drop in NYC; I say, let's celebrate with some Islands that get there earlier than us, and let me go to sleep when I"m tired.

Getting up early to drive down to Oriental, install my fixed motor, and get the CP 23 up river to New Bern. May get some following winds, and will have a sailor with me to share the trip. He's driving too, so we can leave one car at the finish, so as to take ourselves back to get my car.

Anyway, plan to sail on new year'd day, so that's a good start to 2014.

You're kidding right?  Don't think I've been up past 10:00 pm on New Years Eve for the last fifteen years.  We stay in, watching Texas A & M and Duke, a surprisingly good game.

Happy New Years all. :)

Happy New Year 2014 to all the Compac-o-nauts! And everyone else!
Yesterday, my daughter who was up from Florida for Christmas, and I made some killer chili. After driving her to AC airport for her return flight, I stopped at my brothers and we shared a bottle of 3 Philosophers...good way to end a year. Then home to watch an old movie with the Admiral. We also don't care about staying up till 12 but the neighborhood kids with thier fireworks made sure we did!
Soon it's the annual New Years Day row! Best to all,
Bob23

Frank...Haha! The after-burner effects of the chili didn't kick in until we got home. I'll bet she engineered the chili to do just that, she's quite a knowledgable chef! And a prankster kinda like the old man!
