Title: Need Winches for 150% Genoa??
Post by: shazam on November 05, 2013, 10:55:38 AM
One of first things I've done for my new toy.....'79 CP 16... is order new sails.  This week I expect to pick up a new main and a 150% Genoa.  I figured I could always use the existing working jib for heavy winds.  The Genoa is expected to be my daily driver!
The boat came with Jib tracks.  What I don't know is will I need small winches to handle the extra load from the Genoa.
What have you done?

I had a 150 on my 16, but I only used it on lighter air days and didn't need a winch to handle it.
