Title: New to your forum....
Post by: Deborah Klaus on March 27, 2006, 03:30:59 PM
I am new to this forum but an old Com-Pac sailor having owned Ariel, CP19, hull #70 for 24 years.  At one time I contributed to another CP forum--in 2001 and 2002....I wonder if any CP sailors that posted on that forum are still contributing....would be nice to get an update....
Title: Welcome

So many years with the same boat. Like my friend Gerry and his C-P 19 Peanut Butter. A testamonial as to the vessel's longlife even in the 'harsh' south of sun, sun, sun. Please enjoy a look-see in the photo gallery.

Tell us a sea fairing tale about something neat. My dad as a teenager had been slaped by a flying fish one night in the Golf of Mexico when standing watch behind the helm of a 46 foot schooner. The night was so black he couldn't see his hand in front of his face. And suddenly BLAM! Fish hits him.

I danced on the foredeck through a rainbow once which was pretty neat.  Also caught a mullet in the port shrouds--he/she was very tasty.  At anchor one sunset I watched an optical illusion where the sun appeared to be coming toward me, but that may have been the rum.  I could go on.....24 years of memories can certainly be lengthy.  I bet that fish hurt!  Thanks for the interest....keep in touch.  My second husband kept his boats on a mooring in Door County before he moved to FL.
Title: Rum Vision
Post by: Craig Weis on March 28, 2006, 09:15:13 AM
Those Rum Visions in the form of a totty for the body can be rather pleasent at times.    As long as the skipper steadies-up in the cockpit and doesn't start making 'motor noises' and tampering with the tiller trying to scull the boat away from the anchor road. Trust me!

Tasty fish arn't for me. No matter how they are caught. Can't force those scales down.  :!:

Our County here in Wisconsin has extra-ordinary anchorages and islands to duck behind to ride out a storm. It's pretty interesting to see the different landscapes and not just a flat expance of water. But over the water gives the best sunsets.  8)  I can hear the sun sizzle as she sinks below the waves. My question is who re-lights the sun in the dawn?  skip.

Title: That's OK

Go ahead and climb the pole. She has enough concrete in her bottom to not lay over.   skip.

I saw a fellow climb a narley telephone pole at Road America and try to rip the loud speakers from there mountings. Couldn't do that. And then the fool slid down the pole. All he had on was a pair of levis cut-offs. Hit the ground and rolled on to his back to sleep it off. Can you say slivers? skip.
