Title: Jib Identification help
Post by: Mattlikesbikes on August 30, 2013, 02:09:59 PM
In the lot of CP 19 parts I acquired there is a small jib I am not sure what it is.  I do not think it is a storm jib.
It has wire luff, material snaps instead of brass hanks and a window. It also has a "R" on it
The measurements are below
Luff  15'4"
Leech 14'4'
Foot  7'7"

Anybody know the sailmaker or what conditions should I use it in?

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the info about the snaps.   I might post this on sailnet to see if I can find out any other info

Looks like it is off a one design. The weight of the sail cloth will tell you how much wind to put on it. Compare to your 110, if lighter and bigger it may fly as a genny, if heavier and smaller, could use for heavier air. You may not get good sheet angles though in which case it won't hang well and result in poor performance.  Happy sailing.
