Title: Seeking Com-Pac Picnic 14
Post by: lycarden on August 17, 2013, 09:46:21 AM
Looking for a good Com-Pac Picnic, less than 10 years old,  with a good trailer within 1000 miles of Alabama.  Prefer a green hull, but interested in others as well.  Also would like cushions and bimini, but not a deal breaker.   Note that about 90% of the picnics listed on various sites are already sold.

Good luck with that.  CP14's are extremely rare.  In the 7 or 8 years I've been on this forum, I've never seen one being sold, or at least don't recall.
You're going to need a nationwide man-hunt to find one, well beyond the reach of this forum, sorry to say.

Haver you considered a 16? They are cheap, plentiful and awesome little micro-cruisers.

I'm looking for the 14 to almost replace my kayak after work.  There is a shallow ramp that would allow the 14 an easy entry for a few hours of sailing/floating after work.  I'm used to larger sailboats but too busy to get to the lake or beach.    Thank you very much for response.

I almost bought one about 4 years ago in Maryland but it went to a Florida buyer. I think it's been much longer than 10 years since they were built....could be wrong.

I hope you find one, they look beautiful.  Look at a Capri 14.2. Nice boats, lots of them made, parts and sails available.  And there are lots of fleets. Just a thought.

Found one in Arkansas. Craig's list.
Great wind today, just took out the sunfish for a quick dunk.

There is one in West Knoxville.  It is listed in the Chattanooga Craigslist for $2,000.
Good Luck!

A guy from Tulsa was able to get there a few days before I could have made the trip.  He got a great deal, and the boat was old but had a jib.  The newer 14s only have a main.    Thank you very much for sharing this info; I appreciate it.  lcarden
