Greetings:

Please tell me where I can find the VIN on a 1979 Com-Pac-23 please.

The VIN or Hull Number should be stamped into the hull on the stern.  My Hull number is located on the upper right hand side of the stern just below the rub rail.  In SC, I had to make a "rubbing" of the Hull number using a pencil in order to complete the titleing process.

Thank you gentlemen.

I presume  Hutchins Co., Inc. put the VIN on the stern of the Com-Pac 23 hulls also.  Would somebody with a Com-Pac 23 be kind enough to confirm please?

Yes, on the starboard side near the rub rail is the HIN. ABVxxxxxx
