Title: Jib Sheet Cam Cleat Location?
Post by: Pacman on July 09, 2013, 09:49:48 PM
My C-16 came with cam cleats located on the forward end of the cockpit combing.

I have been thinking of relocating them to the cabin top next to the sliding hatch.

It seem that the cabin top location would allow me trim the jib so the clew of the jib would be closer to the center of the boat.

Q1.:  Would that help upwind performance?

Q2.:  Where are the cams on the new Legacy boats?

What do you think?

Pacman that is an interesting thought.   As I picture that set up in my mind I see the sheets inside the shrouds, I'm not sure how that might impact jib shape when not hauled in tight?
On my cp16 the jib comes just past my shrouds so my case I think the sheets would chafe on them.

Just some thoughts
Cheers
