Has a date been set, yet?
Tom Reed, CP 17 SC 377 "Cattail"
Nope, the HJTIC ain't got 'round to it yet and he won't till sometime in September if then. Stay tuned.
Thanks, Butch. I know how those boys with the tree spears on the front line of that battle scene in Braveheart must have felt as William Wallace rode by urging them to "Hold," "Hold," "Hold."
I can tell you this much. It will be in Oct or Nov. or not. There will be little or no wind. The committee boats presents if iffy at this time. Charlie and Izzy will provide the entertainment as usuall. HJTIC will provide pre race activities and host the ever popular awards banquet with 8 x 10 color glossy photographs with diagrams on the back. There will be a skippers meeting with a presentation of rules of racing of some sort. I Hope Charlie attends this meeting so he know the start time of the race. We will have to send out search party to find last years trophy to be presented. It is somewhere in GA. I'm told. Seems the skipper that has it had the audacity to sell his catboat for some fast and sleek sloop of some sort. I think Face book will come in handy in this endever. Hope to see you there. Suncat Nationals #4. 8)
Finally got around to looking at my calendar and it seems to me that the best dates for this year's Sun Cat Nationals would be November 1-2 or November 8-9 this year.
Before I pick one, any votes for or against either weekend?
The 2013 Sun Cat National Championship Regatta will be held November 8-9, 2013, with November 10 as our backup day in case of bad weather or just a lazy sailing day if all goes well. I will update www.suncatnationals.com later today with an announcement.
OK, so I'm a little late with the official announcement. This is what happens when you put a catboat jib trimmer in charge.

I see that this thread has been moved from the Sun Cat forum to the "organized events" forum. I hope this does not create an unreasonable expectation of organization on the part of event organizers! ;)
We're getting ready for the Sun Cat Nationals this weekend and Sonja and I are a bit concerned about Libby dog.
She had knee surgery 8 weeks ago. She's recovering nicely, but we think the party might be a bit too much excitement and she may re-injure herself.
We are considering having the Saturday night dinner (and maybe the Friday evening welcome party) over at our neighbor's restaurant. Ryan's on 17 in Cleveland, for those who don't know.
Thoughts or suggestions on this idea?
Another successful Sun Cat Nationals! I was very amused the whole time!

Great report, Tom. Y'all looked a bit cold, though.

The weather was actually very nice. We got a mist of rain on the way back to the boat ramp, but otherwise could not have asked for better!
