Title: project boat
Post by: sailpace on July 04, 2013, 10:57:45 AM
I moved from where my boat is docked. I do not expect I will have the time to use it again if I visit back to SW FL where she resides. I want to sell this boat and am selling for the non-negotiable price of 10 thousand. No need for discussion except with serious buyers. It is a project boat, but has some really good amenities. A/C through the cabin-hatch just below the boom vang that you could hang meat in within ten minutes. A dive hookah that is good to thirty feet that runs off of an intertube off of what I would describe as a motorcycle battery. North sails with less than 100 hours on them, Harken throughout. If interested, talk to me at 239 243 4978. I have sailed many boats over forty years. This is a fine vessel with the right owner.

Post should be in the classified section.  Is it a CP27?  that would be the assumption since that is the section you posted in.  It would be helpful to put the age of the boat, a link to any current photos, reason you call it a project boat (has it been holed and sunk? hurricane damage?)  Where in SW FL?

Yes, more nfo please. I might be a serious buyer depending on the condition.

Thank you for your help. I found the site a bit difficult to navigate. It is a four-ported C-P 27 titled year 1988. The boat has been sitting 3 years so bottom goes without saying. Interior cushions have been redone with the exception of the main salon seat. The fabric from the same lot of fabric as the rest of the cushions is aboard as is the original cushion which can be used as a pattern. Hatches and ports need new gaskets. Engine was last started three years ago. It would start, run just a few seconds and stall. The fuel pump would click faster when it ran steadily, but at last running, the clicking sound was slower leading me to believe that the fuel pump was losing strength. The largest problem stems from water intake from what probably was where the original knot meter was seated through the hull. It is a piece of wood that has been saturated with water, and deteriorated to the point where it has allowed water to seep in. A really easy fix when the boat is out of the water The head needs to have the trim wood and shelf re-assembled. This is a wonderful craft to sail. I have relocated to Tennessee and the nearest body of water is too far away to enjoy as this vessel deserves.

The boat is in Cape Coral FL. There used to be a poster to this site named Dave Barnicoat that lives in the same town that the boat is that might be willing to give his personal assessment of the boat. He would be a completely non-biased opinion as I have never communicated with him in any manner. My Mom is elderly and doesn't need the headache of my boat being in her backyard to deal with when a storm comes around this time of year.
