A warning about Murpheys: Pertaining to wood floors in homes, according to my wood floor guy, if Murpheys is used, a buffing and recoating is impossible. The floor would need to be sanded bare and finished from scratch. I wonder if using Murpheys on the cabin sole would create a similiar problem? It may just pertain to the urethanes used in wood floors in homes.

I tried the Murphy's.  It seemed to work well.  I used very little product after Bob's concern.

Ed,

I'm not sure if this is the best thing to do, but .. I've used dilute Mr Clean as it gets some surface mildew, then lots of water.  And if the mildew spots persist, the 220 sandpaper.  The cabin sole seems to need teak oil much more often than any interior part of the boat, most likely due to salt water sitting on it on occasion.  Just cleaned the cabin sole today.  Tomorrow I'll see if I need to sandpaper.  I'm a bit behind in boat work.  Is it spring already?
