Title: New guy
Post by: Mack on June 26, 2013, 11:16:06 AM
Just wanted to say hi.  I've been poking around the forum for quite a long time, but haven't really posted much.   I own a 16/2 which is almost the same boat my Dad taught me sail on 30 years ago.   He still has his and is an active member here.  I live in the Baltimore/Annapolis area and will probably be asking a lot of questions as I work on my boat.    The name on my boat was "Queen Irene", but all the letters except "Que" fell off, so I think that will be her new name.

What a great resource.

Mack,

Welcome. Glad to have you aboard, and posting!

Lived in Bel Air, just above Baltimore, and sailed the Chesapeake for about 20 years, going through 4 Sailboats and a Trawler.  We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water. It is certainly one of the best sailing and cruising areas in North America.

Come on down to check out Charlotte Harbor in SW Florida when the time comes to stop work and search for your little piece of Paradise. With a fleet of three small trailerable boats (2 sail, 1 power), used quite frequently, I can attest to the value of the area for those who love "mess'in about in boats".

Hi Mack and welcome!
If you've been poking around a bit, you already know what kind of shenanigans go on here so there's no need to warn you. And yet you still want to hang around here despite what it may do to your reputation!
Who is your dad, Mack? This could be the first father/son team in the history of the site! Of maybe not.
Looking forward to hearing about your adventures with your 16. Very cool that your dad still has the boat he taught you to sail on. Very cool indeed!

Hey, that's pretty neat!  My Dad is Pat who owns the TeddyB out of Eustis Florida.   He has had that boat since I was just a few years old and it looks a lot better than mine right now!  lol
