Unpacking all the stuff that came with my new/old CP 27, 1988. She has Isofurl roller furling, which I'm 99% sure was factory installed and which replaces the forestay with a solid rod. No sail on the furler when I bought her. Stored in the cabin: a blue North Sails bag labelled "Compact 27 155 Furling Genoa Aeroluff." The sail inside is a Johnson, hank-on style. No possible way this sail would fly on this boat, as far as I can tell. Not only that, but the mast and boom both have North Sails stickers on them. A mystery. Experienced 27 folks, any clues?

That sure is white! I've seen that brand of sail on a Compac before. It could be that your boat was originally set ip for hanks. In some cases the hank on jib is converted to a luff tape with a sunbrella cover when measurments allow. Other times the sails luff is so close to the forestay length that there isn't room for a furling drum and upper swivel. Bobk is very happy with his new sails, is pm him for details.
That sail could possibly be converted, dont know if you have a zig zag machine, but if you do it looks to be a easy task by Sailrite videos...... Just a idea.

We're there any other sails on board?
The only thing that doesn't fit is the Johnson sail. You've got North stickers, North sail bag, and a boat that was apparently setup for furling from the factory. Then you have a Johnson hanked on head sail. Maybe the North suit were kaput (storm/rodents/UV) and the previous owner picked up a used hanked on to be converted to furling and never got around to it.
Make sure your luff measurments are good!
If I had to guess I'd say that what is in the bag is an original (factory) genoa/jib that was stored in the North Sail bag. Check the measurements and sail cloth weight as it might be a "storm" jib that was ordered or it could the original that for some reason was not used when the roller furling was installed. My 87 model was built in Oct and has a full set of Johnson sails that have been reconditioned at least once and the genoa altered for roller furling in 1997. They are still usable and will have to do until I have the greens to replace them.
