Title: New member saying hi
Post by: dmdaw on May 11, 2013, 01:03:35 AM
Have owned my Com-Pac 16 hull number 93 for about a year.  Love the boat, the lines and the history so much that tomorrow I'll be picking up C-P 23 number 80 tomorrow.

The 16 I painted a deep blue and It came out fine.  It sails fine but sinks a little too fast for my liking.  Ok I need to do a little keel work.  The 23 on the other hand floats like a duck which was a real relief to my girlfriend when she discovered I bought another boat.

I'll be docking the 23 just outside Atlanta after the hull is cleaned and polished, in a few weeks if all goes well I'll launch her. I'm really looking forward to the convenience of sailing from a marina base.  sailing, working on the boat and entertaining at the marina should be fun.

I hope to learn from the Com-Pac association and make contributions when appropriate.

Welcome! I also am a 23 guy: hull #321; 1985 23/2 named Koinoina and we sail out of Southern NJ.
Yeah, sailboats that sink a bit tend to not be so much fun to sail...the waterline is meant to stay on the outside! We look forward to hearing about your adventures! Stay in touch!

Are you saying the CP-16 leaks? Clean the keel crack and if small slather in some Marine-Tex and paint it.

skip.
