Title: Compac 16 and trailer for sale
Post by: WhiteShad-O on January 08, 2013, 11:39:16 PM
I have upgraded to a Catalina Capri 22 to put in a slip, so I am selling my 1979 Compac 16 with the Yamaha 4 h.p. two stroke motor which is locked on a rather deluxe motor mount.

I am asking only $1850.00 as I want someone to get a good deal that will appreciate its qualities as a trailer sailor.  The rigging is very sound, the gel coat is good and its a solid boat.  The aft quarter bunks need replacing if you want to lay down in its casket like quarter berths (didn't appeal to me).  The hank on jib is in good shape as is the main sail.  This is a nice looking boat that I would gladly sail with any prospective buyer on locally if you want to try her out.

I expect you can sail her and get your investment back when you are ready to upgrade.  It was a great learning boat for me and made me feel like a fast learner in the gulf even in 20 mph wind (once).

Too bad you're in FL...I'd be interested. I just read an article on the Capri 25..sounds like a great boat. Stop back here at the site from time to time.

Has this boat been sold? I'm moving to Hudson this week and am interested in a 16' Compac.
