Title: rowing a cp16
Post by: kickingbug1 on January 06, 2013, 10:02:09 AM
every once in a while i stop and consider putting oarlocks on my 16. it seems to me that one could mount oarlocks on the outside of the combing with the tops flush with the top of the combing. with long enough oars 7 1/2 or 8 footers one should be able to stand up oar a 16 with the boom removed. there have been posts about this but i have never seen any pictures. i know that some of the spray in foam inside the combings would have to be removed so that a good thru bolt installation could be achieved. you would also have to have two piece oars for storage purposes. can anyone point me in the right direction on this ? im thinking that this might be a good spring project.

A few places for more info, and one pic:

This one has a pic...looks promising to me--note the mounting location allows the locks to be removed for genny track/sheet clearance.
