Title: Whisker Pole
Post by: Jason on December 22, 2012, 04:26:57 PM
5ft retracted, 9ft extended.  1" OD aluminum tube.  Chopped off old paint roller at the end.  I will try it out next year.  I used to have a commercially made one similar to this for my old Snipe, hopefully it works.  The crutch fits good on the mast.  -Jason

Jason,

Looks good. Used same type of pole for a home made light air mainsail gaff on my Sun Cat.

Recommend you add a quick release bungee cord to the open Jaw end to hold the pole against the mast and help secure it in place so it won't slip up or down from the position where you attach it.
