Title: Bob 23's new Dinghy!
Post by: Billy on December 14, 2012, 11:23:49 AM
So I was walking the beach a couple days ago and saw what appeared to be one of the saltiest dinghys I have even seen!

I had to get closer as the craftsmanship was 2nd to none!

I wondered, who could be capable of creating such an amazing seaworthy vessel??? and upon closer inspection the owner was obvious!

Man! You can't have any secrets around here!!! It's true! But I had help. I enlisted the Hinckley Yacht Company to build this prototype but it seemed they were incapable of getting the freeboard right so I just did it myself.
JT:
Imagine that: 3 grown men in a small dingy! That would be the day!
Hahaha...thanks for the laughs men, came at a good time!

Where are you at in these pictures?  It is truly beautiful. It can't be Florida (not knocking it) or I really missed something when I drove truck down there. And I am pretty sure I covered all four corners, if Pensacola could be called a corner. Mike

It does look like a bathtub doesn't it?

These pictures were taken in Barnegat Bay of course! ;)

Seriously, I was in Kauai, Hawaii at Hanalei Bay. And I am willing to bet that the "Mother Ship" was sailed in all the way from the main land.

I was trying to keep this new racing dingy a secret from Mike Greene...it's my newest contender against his "Squint", if she comes out of retirement.
I almost feel like building one...

Bob - Squint The Famous Racing Dinghy is always willing to come out of retirement to thrash whatever you bring to the starting line.  She is about ready for some new paint, but her thoroughbred lines are still intact.

Sounds like a grudge match may be in order. Squint really is a nice dingy...if one has all day! Hahaha...! You may want to check out the Walker Bay website, if there is one. They may have nice pictures of the stern for you to check out...that'll be all you see of me if we race!!!!
Hahahahaha....!!!!!
Interestingly, there is an article in the most recent Small Craft Advisor about a take apart dingy named "Poke About". Here's the designers site...notice any resemplance?
