Title: Wooden box over the centerboard
Post by: santij44 on November 13, 2012, 03:24:44 PM
Hi guys!

I have a centerboard on my picnic cat which is binding when lowering it.
I Check the bottom, but didn't see any obstacles.
I guess I need to remove the wooden box which sits over the centerboard to inspect it.
Their are 8 screws four on each side and two bolts front and back.
My question is, is that wooden box glued to the deck, is tjhe scews and bolts are the only hardware attaching it.
I see like some silicon around it.................appreciate any feed back........THANKS

Hello and Welcome.

I'm willing to bet not many here will know the answer-picnic cats are relatively scarce around here.  My guess? Screwed top with glassed in sides. Probably wrong :)

But Hutchins will be able to tell you I'm sure.  Give them a call:  727- 443-4408

I would chime in with some knowledge of all these centerboards I have worked on but they are all so different......

I would do what Salty19 says, Call and ask them, that is your best bet.

Even this pro has to call the factory sometimes..... sometimes they are not just self explanatory enough to comfortably start ripping into it.
