Tried a foam camping pad under one of the quarterberth cushions. That is ok.
Have ordered a thick floating pad http://www.hayneedle.com/sale/texasrecreationsunsationpoolfloat.cfm?source=emlmktg&tid=email_747
to try under the other.
Any know of a better way?
Got a quote of around $800 for new covered cushions. Have spent a $$$$ on this boat. The former owner added nothing but an anchor and anchor bag.

The cushions on my 1985 23/2 are original and soft. They bottom out when I just sit on them. For sleeping, I use a Thermarest inflatable backpackers sleeping bag pad. You can make it as firm as you want by blowing it up more and it rolls up to a 6" diameter roll when not in use. I would like to get new cushions for my 23 but not in the budget quite yet. I've entertained the idea of making my own...if I do...ther'll be many posts here about it!

On my 16, I also have used 1/2" foam pad on the bunks. I took a standard (US Army) length of about 6' and cut it in half. You only need 3' of it under the cockpit seats. For bunk cushions I use 3" thick patio furniture pads. They seem to be quite comfortable with just the right amount of firmness. I haven't actually slept on them, but have lolled about quite comfortably when daydreaming aboard Pegasus. They are long enough to provide support down to your hips but don't take up room under the cockpit. Bob23's idea is great if storage space is very precious.
