Title: Spy photo - rare cat-rigged CP 16!
Post by: wes on October 12, 2012, 10:25:46 PM
Spotted at a marina on the Pamlico River, NC. The marina owner told me it belonged to the local Sea Scout troop. We don't need no stinking Sunday Cat!

Wow.......even left the original mast step.

What did they do go through the vent in the front?

That's pretty neat. Compression post?
Looks like the mast and tabernacle has a drilled hole with a pin, so I'm thinking, "walk the mast up from the stern to the bow and the mast will drop down onto of the tabernacle. As usual. Looks like a chunk of wood holding the tabernacle up off the forward deck. What's under the deck here? The chain plates had to be mover forward and the head stay tac'ed at the very end of the bow. Probably through bolted with a leveraged shroud tightener. And a new and longer boom tube from Dwyer with the old ends screwed in. And a newly cut sail. I'm thinking it's a sloop and not a gaff rigged boat.

How's it sail?

skip.

The mast is going through the forward vent hole to be stepped on the hull itself.
