Hi Craig,
What is "rope caulk" called? I am thinking of trying it.
Thanks,
Bert Felton
Hi Bert, Rope caulk is a flexible caulking product used to seal around doors and windows in your home. It comes in rolls, is about the diameter of a pencil and has the consistency of modeling clay. It is available in most hardware stores in the weather striping/ insulating section. To use it, just unroll an appropriate amount and press into the gap to be filled. It is very sticky but easily worked and can be smoothed nicely by wetting your fingers. It is very weather resistant and stays flexible. I have used it for many applications over the years with good success.
Craig,
Thank you for the information. I'll give it a try.
Bert
Ace Hardware calls it 'Duct Seal'.
Costs about $3.00 for a one pound brick of the stuff in the plumbing department.
At the aeroport we call it 'Dog S___'. and it still cost about $3.00.
