The 2012 Sun Cat National Championship Regatta (http://www.suncatnationals.com/2012-sun-cat-national-championship-regatta-nov-2-4-2012) will be held November 2-4, 2012.
We hope to see more Sun Cats than ever this year!
Unfortunately, the Fair Maiden of the Horizon Cat Class is otherwise occupied on the proposed weekend. There has been a request over at trailersailor.com to move the date to Nov 17-18, the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Any input on that idea? We can't wait forever to decide!

As long as we have perfect weather it doesn't matter to me...
Dennis
I know it's tuff for you but go ahead and make a decision already ??? I got things to do, places to go, and people to see. ;D I may have to find a tiller trimmer!
Well, we are going with the originally scheduled dates. Unfortunately, Isy will not be able to join us, nor will Andy.
The only solution that makes sense for future years is for everyone to recognize the importance of the Sun Cat Nationals and keep all of October and November free until I get around to picking dates. ;)
The excitement is building!
Yesterday, I told Sonja that we need to get out and practice our starts, power-jibes and other racing maneuvers. She laughed and asked what a power-jibe was and I had to explain that it was just a normal jibe but calling it a power-jibe made it funnier to me. I had to remind her of the main purpose of the race: amusing me.
She then felt the need to remind me that putting on the race actually requires some work and planning, much of which I manage to avoid.
She suggested that this year we have Ryan's Subs (owned by our neighbors) bring us ribs and beans and coleslaw and such so she can relax and enjoy the awards dinner cocktail party instead of preparing all the stuff to go with the steaks.
She also said it would be nice to know how many are coming this year, so if you plan to attend please register for the 2012 Sun Cat Nationals here (http://www.suncatnationals.com/register).
Andy, I know you said you can not compete, but establishing a new precedent under which Sun Cat owners send in hired guns to race their boats would be funny. Or maybe you can just talk some sailing buddies into doing it. Teach 'em how to use that jib!
I'm gonna tell Dennis Peck that you called him a "Hired gun"!
I wasn't really thinking of Dennis but he'd be a good choice for sure. Last time, I brought in Charlie J, who would have done better without my help.
