Anyone have a recommendation on how to attack oxidation on my 1982 Com-Pac 15? My poor daughter looked like she had be adopted by an African tribe from the interior when we got back to the dock. Typical older boat (my new boat) that has been outside...chalky substance on hands, feet, etc.

Interior? Clean, prime and paint it.
Exterior (Hull)? Wetsand and compound.
Deck? Hand compounding until it's not chalky or topside paint.
Anti-skid areas? No suggestions, sorry.
Tip: You could also try a Mr. Clean "Magic Eraser" and some soft scrub to remove oxidation. It won't get it all off, but might remove the chalk. That would be on the exterior only.
I recommend starting with a magic erasers on the whole exterior, The interiors I am not going to give advice, I dont really deal with them much...
The outside, after magic erasers.......and buy walmart brand, you will save a bit cause you go through them (at least we did on our 19) Then get yourself some StarBrite Heavy rubbing compound.
After you run that compound then follow with 3m Fiberglass cleaner and restorer I think it is called.
After several products on the sides of the hull doing test spots I found this combo worked the best, my neighbor thought I painted one side of the boat (till he go real close, but from 15 feet out he was dead sure I slave painted it....)
I have a milwaukee buffer, heavy duty, so I was able to save myself the hand labor....... elbow grease is just as effective, just not as fast.
I do agree with salty, on that wetsanding, but I try to veer away from that anymore, just as a last resort.
I just did a hunter 36 boot stripe, very oxidized, started by hand and VOILA! bust out the milwaukee and she looks new again! (At work I cant just jack around all day by hand on a boat that large!)
If you do wetsand, use 1000 grit, it is really good enough, allow the paper to do the work, and do tight circles, then compound and check it out. be easy around edges.

I have used Polly Glow in the past on a Catalina 25 I used to sail on the Chesapeake Bay....results were fantastic!
For Puffin, my CP16, I need to do the entire exterior - interior is great.
Also check out Shurhold Buff Magic and Pro Polish. Gets alot of good reviews. The Shurhold website has some videos on it.
