i never had a 16 with lifelines/stancions but it wouldnt be a bad idea.  That little boat will handle some big seas and lifelines would increase safety in that case.

The C-16 is IMHO too small for "full size" stanchions and life lines.

However, if the sailor is wearing a harness with a teather to a secure pad eye on the cockpit floor, the sailor could be safely kept on board in the roughest of seas.

Jim, Hutchins shows a set of lifelines on the last parts list I got from them (dated 1/7/2010) for $164.00.

From the listing, I'd guess it was designed for the XL model (part #MC00R0037, R LIFELINE 16XL), but I believe one could mod through all the iterations.

I don't have any pics of my own, I have the original model, but there are several on Sailing Texas http://www.sailingtexas.com/scompac16152.html (http://www.sailingtexas.com/scompac16152.html).
