Title: Nylon sail slides
Post by: ddg23 on May 28, 2012, 06:12:45 PM
One of the nylon pieces that attach the sail to the sliding pieces that goes up and down the mast broke the last time out.  Could someone tell me the proper terminology of the part and where I can find some replacements.  Thank you
Dan

I'd walk the broken part into a West Marine store and buy one.
I don't have a good and proper name for a sail slide.

skip.

Dan, if the sliding piece is flat, you are looking simply for a "sail slide", if the piece has a round barrel shape, it's a "sail slug." Plenty of different sizes to choose from.  If you need the piece that connects the sail to the slide/slug, it's a sail shackle. -Justin

If it will help; the Sun Cat mast is a Dyer DM 375 which takes  1/2" round sail slugs (A018, A118).
