Title: First night on 23
Post by: Greene on May 04, 2012, 10:25:59 PM
B and I are snug in our comfy 23 Wrinkles getting ready for our first night at anchor.  The new moon is beautiful and the Weems and Plath oil lamp is giving off a lovely glow.  The reggae music is on quiet and the boat is rocking gently in 12 - 15 mph winds.  A nice bottle of wine, a cove all to ourselves... Doesn't get much better than this.

Nite all.

We love the oil lamp.  It dries out the cabin and gives off such a warm glow.  We need to find a gimbaled mount for it next.

We spent 30 nights at anchor last season on our 19 and hope to exceed that number this year on the 23.

Fantastic!  glad your early overnight was a success.  30 nights is great particularly with your shorter season, you beat me by a bunch even though I can sneak in some late fall and winter trips.  Of course my July and August not too pleasant for sailing or overnight.

July and August is about when Brenda is warm enough to cut it down from two coats to one.  We will still have a big ol' comforter on the V berth during those months.  I don't think she belongs in Wisconsin!

My kids bought me the 7" lamp a couple of years ago.  I'd love to get the gimbaled mount, but it runs over $50.

come on mike!  with all your $$$$$ you can afford to buy all of us from the other side of the tracks those lamps!

let me know when they come in and i'll help out by paying for the postage to my place.  it's the least i can do!

Good idea Carl.  We'll bring those to this years CLR as our little gift to everyone.

Yea right! Nice try Mr. Crazy.  With our third kid in college, daughter's wedding in August, Wisconsin property taxes climbing and property values falling we will be darning socks and reading by candlelight for the near future.

Wish I could help but if I miss a paycheck I'm going to the penitentiary.
