I recently purchased a 77 CP 16 that needs some love. I need both the main and jib. I would like to find a used set if anyone has some to sell. If not it looks like most people on the site like national sails. If anyone knows of a better place please let me know. Also if I were to buy new sails what sized jib is recommended for the Chesapeake bay if I were to buy only one. Thanks for the help.
Hi weeone:
I don't have a 16 so I can't personally help you but just wanted to welcome you to the site. There are a lot of 16ers here so I'm sure you'll soon be getting lots of help. Welcome!

I've got a fairly well loved (read beat) 155% genoa, set up for roller-furling. Let me know if you think you can use it. It's the original sail for my 1982.

Thanks for the welcome Bob23. I don't think I'll will be able to use the Genoa but thanks for the response. I got a quote from national sails that seemed pretty reasonable. I think I might go with them if I decide to restore the ol girl.
I ordered my new sails from Cruising Direct (North Sails) and have been very happy.

Can you tell us about the sails and what they cost?
That might give me a benchmark for discussing new sails with our local sailmakers.
This should point you in the right direction

I received a quote for a main 5 oz $325 and the jib is $150 from National sails. This seems pretty reasonable to me.
I have a set of factory sales they are white off of a 1978 if you'd be interested in those far to good condition let me know
