Hi All!
With Pegasus all buttoned up for the long cold? winter, it would be somewhat incovenient for me to climb aboard to measure the mast step, so... if anyone has easy access to theirs, please respond to this post with the particulars.
Thanks!
Marty K.
Hey Marty:
In inches; the base is 2.75 X 4.00 the side is 4.75 high. The front and back of each side is perpendicular to the deck for 3.00 inches then cut at what looks to be 45° on each end leaving a 2.00 flat on top. The slot for the mast pin starts .25 inches from the top of the side at those flat spots.
The rough plate must be 4.00 X 12.25. Possibly 12.5 when the bends are considered.
My step has been bent and reformed from a dismasting incident last season. I pounded it out as well as I could and reset it in 5200. I read in a recent thread where, and I agree, that it should be bedded in something that is more forgiving than 5200.
I just now thought that I should have checked out the thickness...... will do later if you need it.
I needed to take the hatch and drop board slides off to use as patterns to make replacements. Your request and a moderately warm day served as inspiration.

Charlie - I was reading your post re oars when your response arrived! Thanks for the info. I'm making an adjustable forward crutch for Pegasus from 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 PVC fence tubing. Ought to work just as I envisioned. Thanks for saving me the need to open her up!
