Title: Moonlight sail tonight!
Post by: brackish on November 11, 2011, 09:46:31 AM
Prediction is for temp to be at 61 at 3:00 PM falling to about 48 by 8:00 PM.  Winds diminishing from 12 to about 8 from the SSW.  Crystal clear with a full moon.  Looks like a moonlight sail is in order for tonight with the Admiral and some friends.  Supper on the boat with "snugglers" to finish it off.:)

Home early though, got a half marathon in the morning.  Part of the Boston training plan.  I'm in for this April, my qualification race time was submitted and accepted in September. Lots of folks upset, they had to chop about 3 minutes off of all the qualifying times because of the number of applicants so folks hit the original times but didn't get in.  I had 13 minutes to spare. One of the few advantages of getting old is a generous qualifying time.

moonlight sail sounds fun..  where are you sailing?      sounds pretty ambitious to schedule an evening sail and plan on getting up to run a 1/2 marathon.. good for you!    having qualified for the boston marathon must help to keep you focused on training  :)   jt

Bay Springs Lake, northeast Mississippi, a development free lake very pretty this time of year.  Plan to be back and in bed by 10:00 PM, race has a late start 9:00 AM.

Truthfully the heavy training went into qualifying, so it is hard to focus on being competitive rather than just going up and having a good time.  I'll end up in the middle ground, trained enough to not be embarrassed by my finish time, but not as trained as I was when I qualified.

Well according to the Admiral it is dark hot chocolate with a shot of peppermint schnapps and whipped cream.  Very good on a cold night on the water.
