Title: Thanks for the help
Post by: dwbarker on September 10, 2011, 12:28:54 PM
I just recently finished making my rudder into a foiled rudder and am blown away by its performance.  This post is to thank the many respondents in regard to my questions, with a special thanks to Doug Martindale for all of his advice and follow-up emails.  I can only recommend that every CP-16 owner make or buy a foiled rudder.
Thanks again,
Dan Barker

I agree, Dan
And Doug was kind enough to send me a foil shape which was the basis for my foiled rudder.
It went from this:

Thank you. I could not have done it without much help from many fellow Compacers here at the site. There is much inspiration here intersparced with some zany humor and near lunacy at times sprinked with some good old fashioned sailing lies.
