Title: steaming light
Post by: miata on June 01, 2005, 06:08:10 PM
How would you change a steaming light? Should I drop the mast or use a ladder? Is the rig stong enough to hold a man 175 lbs. in a bosom chair?

Skippy here used a ladder to scale the heights of my C-P 19. Almost made it to the spreader and at that point had no problem changing the steaming lamp.

I have the same issue, I was just planning on dropping the mast.  Its a simple and not too difficutl operation for about three people (at least two with good backs).

Additionally one might check the connection/plug on the deck at the mast step with a battery charger. Just introduce 12 volts 2 amps into the plug to double check that the lamp is 1-burned out. or 2- not makung contact with the socket. With a volt meter one can check to see if 12 volts is coming 'up to the plug' from the switch panel. skip
