I am looking for a "Replacement" trailer for my 1982 Com-Pac 19. It was stolen in Miami when I was sailing to the Dry Tortugas. My boat is currently in St. Mary's, GA........On foam blocks! Help!
Thanks,
Paul G.
Boy, that's a dirty shame! Those druggies/no goods will steal anything.
Take the wheels off, take the hitch off and they will still steal it for the scrap value. No more money left in the country.
Are you insured? I figure a visitor dock would be too expensive to leave the boat in the water.
I believe that the trailer guy, Performance, for my CP-19, next to Hutchins, went belly-up.
Other then calling Com-Pac I have no idea.
skip.
Yea, Com-Pac used to use Performance Trailers, but they went out of business and now they use Magic Tilt.
I would check Craigslist or see if you could have a local guy build you one. You may be able to modify a trailer that is of similar size and shape. As long as the frame is in good shape, you can get a new axle & wheels and basically have a brand new trailer.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss but I NEED to hear about this trip!!! Please!!!! And pictures would be nice as I live in Tampa Bay and have thought about trailering down to the keys and making that trip.
Billy....yeah trip was good. I did it without an outboard, so it was dicey at times. I hit the Key Biscayne bridge going through it. Too many other inconsiderate boaters. Left on a weekend, bad Idea. Should leave out of Miami on a Monday morning to avoid being surfed into the bridges. Biscayne Bay was nice and easy. Anchored at Pumkin Key. Stopped in Key Largo for some sundowners. Thankful to have an extremely shallow draft in the Keys. There is also a shuttle that goes from Key west to Miami and stops in many places if you need to zip back up to Miami because you forgot sunblock or your cigar cutter.
Tortugas was great. The fort was cool. It was tempting to keep going South when you get out that far.
PG.

don't know if this helps.
