I noticed some sailboats had a WINDOW sewing into their headsail to improve the vision ahead. so I took my headsail to the sailmaker in my
area and had them sew one in for me. I only cost a few dollars and was well worth it. They also added a leech cord which help a lot on my older sail. The leech cord is used to take the flutter out of the leech.
I had my genoa cut "higher" and added a pendant to get it above the pulpit so I could see under it... the windows (or so I've heard) get stiff quickly and crack with exposure to the elements. I also run my 110 jib with the same pendant... it also keeps it out of the water on those really hairy days when we're shippin water over the rail.
