Hey if you are in the Tampa Bay area come on down to Gulfport for our open house - Free sailboat rides - big boats only - chickens! food , fun vendors all kinds of sailing related stuff. HideAway is not in the water - still being repaired but maybe we can sneak one of the Catalina 16.6 keel boats out when nobody is looking.
Last year we had over 700 folks show up gave almost 300 sailboat rides and they ate up 1,000 hot dogs - fortunately not all at once. It has turned into a fun family day by the bay.
The event starts at 1pm and goes to 4.

Wow what a turn out. I heard we gave almost 300 people sail boat rides. Of the 21 boats participating three broke down, one lost his steering but had a spare tiller so that group had a bit of excitement. the place was packed all afternoon but we had a nice wind all day. Last year we gained 15 new members from the open house. It was a hot day but the volunteer survivors party afterwards was a lot of fun. The 1,000 hot dogs were gone by 3, so if nothing else we fed a lot of hungry wannabe sailors.
