Title: Anyone Dealt with American Sail?
Post by: SpeakEasy on April 20, 2011, 09:45:17 PM
I am shopping for a new genoa for my 23. I'm amazed that I've e-mailed several sailmakers and have had a reply from only one. The one that got back to me is American Sail. They offer a 135% roller furling 3.9 oz. dacron genoa with a UV shield for $943. If I order it by the end of the month they'll ship it for free.

Any thoughts on this company?

Thanks in advance.

No experience with that company, however, if you do a search on this site you will find a lot of info on experiences with various sailmakers.  mine is as follows.  I paid approximately $700 for a 5.3 oz. RF 135 with foam luff panels and Sunbrella UV protection.

Brackish, thanks for the link and therefore information about more sail lofts. I was able to find a much better deal and an actual person who would talk with me through FX Sails. Ordered my genny and CDI furler from them today. I'm pumped!
