Title: CDI Furler for 16/2
Post by: sailinlou on April 19, 2011, 10:38:28 AM
I have a 1986 Compac 16/2 with bowsprit.  What is the correct size CDI furler for this boat?  I have read on several sailing websites that they recommend the CDI FF2, but have read on this site that some people recommend the FF1.  I have a 135 genoa, so I want to make sure I purchase the right size for my boat.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the foium.  I believe the FF1 model is the right one for the 16.  What I would do in your shoes is to call the factory and ask to be sure (I didn't look into CDI when I had a 16).   I thought the FF2 model was for larger pin diameters, like on the 19's and 23's.   You could also take a look at the specs of the furler and measure you're rigging carefully to make double sure.
