Before I put the Beagle II away for the winter, I measured her up for a new lazy bag (Mack Pack, Doyle Stack Pack, etc) to make it easier to handle the mainsail. I've used both systems in the past on other boats, and I decided I liked them more than the Dutchman flaking system that came with my CP27. I like the convenience of dropping the main and merely zipping it up, rather than throwing on a few sail ties and putting a conventional cover on the the whole shebang. When I ordered the new main, I deleted the holes for a Dutchman. Anyway, I sewed up the new BeagleBag over the winter and scrounged around on eBay for the requisite Harken cheek blocks and a spool of 1/4" soft triple braid for the lazy jacks. Climbed up the mast yesterday- courtesy of Capt. Al's mast ladder- installed the lazy jack system, put the new main on, then the new BeagleBag, which fit perfectly!  Now if the wind drops enough that I won't flog myself to death, I'll get the genoa on and go sailing. Life is good on Barnegat Bay!!
