It's true! Not satisfied with plying the waters of NJ, we're coming down to Punta Gorda for a very short visit with our daugher, who by the way, is the greatest daughter on the planet. I may be a bit biased in my observation.
We're finally escaping NJ from 4/18 to 4/22 and I'm hoping to meet some of you guys in person. First beer's on me! Maybe the 2nd, too! If anyone is gonna still be down there, maybe we can exchange shoe phone numbers via personal message.
I was hoping to get down sooner but we are babysitting my mother in law after the passing of her husband, my father in law Otto Hansen last October.
Hope to get invited aboard for a sail! (hint, hint)

Bob,
I may be able to make something happen. As of right now, I'll be around that weekend and maybe I could talk the wife into a weekend in Port Charlotte and trailer my 19 down there from Tampa (only about 1.5 hrs).
Billy
Bob -
You'll be too late for us snowbirds. I should be back in NJ by the time you get here. Maybe next time? Best selection of beer in the area is at the Ice House on route 41 in Punta Gorda. About 25 beers on tap and another hundred brands by the bottle.
Enjoy your trip.
Boy must be nice to have the time and $$'s to do this.
Of course I'm green with envy, you lucky dog you!
Salt water being denser, she'll float a little higher. So more adult beverages can be loaded on board.
skip.
Keep us posted - might get the local Cat Boat Gang to put on a show fer ya. After all, Charlotte Harbor is the (unofficial) Com-Pac Sun Cat Capital of the World.
Last Saturday, Feb 26, we had 6 Sun Cats, a Horizon Cat and a couple of other Cat Boats out on the water at the same time! And that didn't include a few local Sun Cats that couldn't make it.

Ron:
Thanks for the beer heads-up. I'll check it out. Hope to catch up with you back in NJ. Maybe at Tice's Shoals Ron-dya-voo 2011?
Skip:
I have neither the time nor the money but I on the other hand, I can't afford not to. What would I do here in NJ- spend my time working for money that I need so I can keep on working? Bah, humbug! I'd rather sip a Margarita while watching a Gulf coast sundown. Besides, we miss our daughter!
Nemo:
That would be great! As we get closer to the departure date, I'll PM my shoe phone number.
I wish I could've gotten down there sooner. In April, the weather up here is already pretty nice and in the past, I've had Koinoina in the water on 4/15. Not this year. Looking forward to this trip!
Bob23...and Admiral Linda
Bob,
I live in Punta Gorda year round, and would be more than happy to meet up at Dean's for a couple of cold ones. Sorry I can no longer take you for a sail on a Com Pac, but I have a Corsair 24 tri that we could squeeze in some time on.

Ron:
I'll take you up on that! There is a Corsair up here and while I love my 23, I like to go fast, too!
I'll email or pm you before we leave...thanks!
Bob23...countin' the days!
Well, we will arrive in Fla-di-da 2 weeks from tomorrow...really getting excited now. Although we talk on the phone all the time, we haven't seen our daughter since the big blizzard of 12/26 in which she decided to drive back down. I hope I can get to meet some of you seedy characters while I'm down there.. I'm already packing my supply of Hawaian shirts! She says I'll fit right in!
While we're down there, I might take a peek at houses for sale but I'm reminded by the Admiral that I'm planning too many things for too short a time. Besides, we don't have the dough! What else is new? Uncle Sam wasn't too bad to me on my taxes so that's reason enough to celebrate!
Bob23
Hopefully, no more of this for a while:

Well, Tomorrow at 0800 hrs local we leave the wonderful garden state of NJ for a 5 day whirlwind tour of SW Florida. Been looking forward to seeing our daughter again. I'm sure I'll eat too much on this trip. Can't wait to have a cheeseburger in paradise. And a nice cold Marg.
Bob23
You folks have a safe and enjoyable trip.
Safe trip Bob.
