Title: 23 mast step rebuild
Post by: sekul on February 09, 2011, 07:33:51 AM
I have cut the top of the mast step off, removed the soggy plywood and the hard foam. My question is this. Com-Pac told me to fill the void with solid fiberglass, but that is a lot of fiberglass. Should new p.t. plywood be glassed in also. Any help would be appreciated.

replace the wood with g 10 board.  That is what I did on my 23.  You will never have to worry again.

So what "stuff" is beween the deck fiberglass and the interior. I am thinking of installing a mast hinge. I don't know if large screws into the deck are adequate or if I should drill clear through and bolt it.
