Title: Brass porthole replacement gaskets
Post by: thedavo on March 22, 2005, 06:30:04 PM
I opened a porthole on a C-P 27 I am looking at and a bunch of black pieces fell out which formerly were the rubber gasket/seal you see when the ports are opened. Are replacement seals known to be available? I am beginning interior refurbishing (teak brightwork and the upholstery) and the rainy season is just two months off so I would be grateful to hear any sources you might know of! Thanks. Dave.

Call Hutchins parts dept. they will sell you the exact seals. Put them in with black rtv, be careful it goes everywhere if your'e not. I took the ports off and did the work on the picnic table then put them back in and clamped 'em shut. Mine were12 years old and leaking because they'd lost their vulcanizer (they were hard).
