Title: Carlyle Lake Com-pac Yachts Rendezvous 2011
Post by: DOUG142 on October 07, 2010, 09:00:30 AM
All,
Any thoughts of if and when the 2011 rendezvous might be?  Some, me included have to project vacation time way way out on the calendar.
Thanks
Doug

I too would like to know as soon as possible.  We start picking vacations in December.  Having bought our Compac this past spring, we haven't had a chance to get her wet this year.  It was not easy coming home from work and seeing her sitting in the drive not being sailed.  I fell asleep in her cabin several times dreaming of adventures to come.  We would have made this years event, but the boat wasn't ready for the water.  As most small boat gatherings seem to be down south, it's nice to have  one only 4 1/2 hours south of us.  Looking forward to meeting you all....Carl

Hi Doug,

At dinner the last night of the Rendezvous, the discussion turned into this question.  I don't think there will be one planned in 2011 but instead will skip a year for 2012.  That's my understanding anyway, and I may well be wrong.  Doesn't mean there WON'T be one, but as of July that was the case.

Plan it and they will come.

Mike,
Seems we have a new com-pac saiilor among us, CrazyCarl, wants to come to a Rendezvous.  Me too.  There are a couple of 16 footers up this way that would maybe come down.  I need to ask them.
What do you think?  Should we?
Doug

Totally up to you.   Becky and I won't be able to make it but I'm sure many others will be.
