Hey folks,
just got my compac 23 last weekend here in michigan from a posted ad on craigslist.
I did a great deal of hull/deck washing, polishing, and my first wax for now.
I understand some one at Hutchins says the mast should have forward rake.
I hope to learn the maximum performance rigging and tuning for cruising and our little
inland lake( Ford Lake ) open class saturday races.
In the future , also I intend on upgrading gear for single- handed sailinfg and will
seek recommended brands to match the boat's design qualities.
My wife has plans for the newer versions upgrade of extended length pulpit and bow rail.
Hope to chat , learn, and share what I know with sailors here.
Welcome to the forum, lots of good info here.

Hey Bob23.
min is a 1981 - I was able to get it within 100 mile drive and it was a deal that came out a few hundred less
than the amount I sold my last boat earlier this summer.
I need to get the teak eyebrows, a teak floor board section( near forward cabin aft of head, and I
need deck gear to trim jib) camcleats , and blocks/deck organizers to run lines aft to cockpit.
Can I get this stuff from compac/Hutchins ? A catalog maybe ?
BTW - you can call me also - 734-276-4349
I rake the mast of my 23/3 about 5* forward. She handles well jib headed, as well as with main and jib. She's great fun to sail. Enjoy!
