Title: CDI Furler Question
Post by: bob lamb on August 16, 2010, 07:12:58 PM
Ahoy Mates;
   Wonder if anyone here knows how the aluminum "cup" (the part that covers the line on the spool) attaches to the spool?  I went to the CDI site but found no help there.  Mine is gone and I'm looking into making one for my little ship.  Without the cup the line wants to flake off.

Good question, Bob. I have a CDI with the aluminum cup but have never given it a thought as to how it remains there. Next trip down to the boat and I'll take a look and post my findings.

the aluminum cup is held in place by gravity.  i have the installation book, if you like, i can scan it and email it to you.

Thanks for the replies...I found a diagram of it and see that it is attached to a bearing at the bottom with two screws.
