Title: Also Introducing Myself
Post by: SpeakEasy on June 27, 2010, 04:58:57 PM
After a months-long search for a "new" boat, I am the proud new owner of a Com Pac 23, #251. It's a 1983, but it is in excellent shape! I am as happy as can be about this boat. I took it out for its maiden cruise, an overnighter, last week. I was on the lake as the sun was going down on June 21, so I'm thinking of naming her "Soulstice."

Oh, I am also looking for a buyer for my 1974 Catalina 22. (http://fingerlakes.craigslist.org/boa/1799488513.html)

I look forward to meeting new friends here and learning a lot about my new craft.

Hey Speak:
I also own a 23:  1985 23/2 #321 "Koinonia". I absolutely love my 23. She has the feel of a much bigger boat, is beautiful to look at and built like a tank. When I last ordered some parts from Hutchins, I mentioned to Gerry how happy I am with this boat. He replied that the 23 is a boat they will never make any changes to...perfect just the way it is!
   Welcome aboard!

Hi Speak,

Welcome aboard. I've had #252 since Nov. 2007. Sail Pymatuning on the PA - Ohio border. Enjoy your "new" boat.

Speak,
Welcome aboard.  Good to hear of another 23 owner, even though we only have a 16.  Looking for a 19 though.
Great group here, willing to answer any and all questions you may have.

Again, welcome aboard.

Oh yeah, Speak. We forgot to mention the entrance fee. Just send me $5000.00 cash and I'll make sure you get in no problem. We usually charge twice that but you seem like a nice guy.

Bob23,
Your not being accurate.  Last I checked it was 4,999.00 to each existing member.  Didn't you get the memo?
Please check you email more often.

Well, the First Mate referred to the boat today as "Soulstice," so my guess is that she's been named.

Wow - our boats are virtually twins!

Pymatuning. Been there. We used to live in Beaver Falls, PA. The thing I remember most about Pymatuning is the carp so thick you could practically walk on top of them. That's at an outlet from Pymatuning, isn't it?
