Title: Compac 16 daysailer mast step
Post by: PHILIPCGARDNER on June 15, 2010, 11:40:29 AM
I just bought a 1978 16 daysailer and have not tried to step the mast. The end ofthe mast has just a steel ball which sets into an opening on the foredeck. Will just securing the stays adequately hold this mast up?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum Phil. I once had a hobie that was stepped that way, but I have never seen a Compac with that arrangement. It should hold. What condition are your stays? Can you get a picture to us?
