Title: legacy stability
Post by: gmerrill on March 14, 2010, 10:33:36 PM
Took my 07 legacy out today in the strongest winds 16 knots with gust up to 25 knots.
was kind of hesitant because the gust were steady and strong.  the boat did great.  at no time
did my brother and i feel unsafe or the boat was unstable in any way.  we almost didn't go
out.  i was glad because i really feel confident in the capability of my boat. Gerri Hutchins had
told me 25knots would be no problem but other people had advise against it. I guess old gerri
knows his product.  by the way i've only been sailing about ten times.

That is what you call baptism by fire.  Exilerating, isn't it? Welcome to the world of sailing.  Most exciting way that I know of to get anywhere slowly.

Good to hear, Greg. Sounds like you had some fun there. I haven't had a chance to take my Legacy out yet but I'm glad you could! Gives me a chance to sail vicariously, as it were. I've been up at Diamond Lake this week, one of the lakes I plan to sail this year, and the weather was nice. However the lake is still frozen solid :(

Here's to many more great sails (and my turn coming too).
