David, that's a great idea and sounds like a smart install.

I'd try it, but my Tohatsu has been truly so reliable despite the abuse I've been dealing it, I'm beginning to think that motor will run on just water...fresh or salt  :)

David, great information.  I'm going to start out using pure gasoline instead of e-10 and see if I'm OK with that, but if necessary, you've blazed the trail.

With regard to the drain petcock, my understanding from Racor many years ago is gasoline-no, diesel-yes.

Now if they would only make a fuel/gasohol separator.

That stuff is horrid. For now ONLY ?? British Petroleum [BP] premium gas has no ethanol in it.
A shot of oil, 2.6 oz/gallon for a 50 to 1 ratio and I'm good to go.
Flexfuel my butt.
skip.
