Title: 2004 Com-Pac Horizon Cat
Post by: David V. on June 05, 2009, 04:45:04 PM
This might be of interest to someone. There is a 2004 Com-Pac Horizon Cat up for auction on Ebay. It looks like it could use a good cleaning and needs a trailer. This one has the Yanmar Diesel. However, what makes this one exceptional is that there is no reserve on it, as it is being auctioned off by a charity, and the current price is $4005.00. Yes, four grand, I believe anyone with a spare trailer and some time could probably end up with a great boat at a great price, once the auction is over on June 11th.

Does look a possible good deal except there is no title. Only a bill of sale. I wonder if that would be enough?

I once bought a boat without a title out of Vermont. There are a lot of hoops to jump through, but once-in-a-while, it might be worth it.

In many states with a bill of sale you can get a certificate as a home built and title as such.  Have done it myself in Maryland.  Marinas commonly file for ownership of abadoned vessels in their yard and get title for resale.
